My Not-For-Profit story

“I’m passionate about the difference volunteer-led and member-based organisations can make.
My career in the Not-For-Profit world was kickstarted by the opportunity to become a Kidsline telephone counsellor at age 15.”

“As I was promoted I began to understand a tension still at the core of my work today; how do you balance the management of passionate volunteers and staff with the need to provide services that are not only caring but credible, innovative and cost-effective too?

“Every organisation - especially smaller and medium sized Not-For-Profits - is vulnerable to being left behind. And I’ve seen first-hand the toll that well intended but inadequate management, structures and change processes take on individuals and organisations.

“Fortunately there are practical, proactive steps any organisation can take today that will make them more resilient and relevant to their clients and stakeholders.”
